Retriever Repair is a new application that I’ve been testing for a school environment. It tracks student 1:1 devices and necessary repairs. These repair records can be added by your technology team or a student helpdesk.
When a device, a laptop, chromebook or iPad, is repaired, the repair is tracked for what is wrong. It also can generate a customized email to the student and parent/guardian telling them what is wrong with the device and advising them if there is any cost for the repair. The app then tracks how many times the student has brought in the device for repair and if it is covered by insurance. If insurance does not cover the repair, the family is notified of the cost and a report is generated for the business department. The program is fully customizable, so match the process to your needs.
Once I’ve finished testing it, it should be ready to use this summer! The program will be ready for purchase by June 30th, if not sooner. Projected cost is $69.99.
